As consulting, independent Lotus Notes consultant for 10 years, Carolyn often attended Joint Application Development meetings with stakeholders, creating quick prototypes on the fly, gathering requirements, and becoming a key part of Agile teams. She would then create more advanced prototypes, present them to client teams, and test them with users.

As a technical writer, Carolyn quickly learns how to use systems (using beta versions, sandboxes, etc) in order to validate the doc she is creating for users. 

Carolyn understands system life cycles, and how requirements become apps. She would be an excellent demo creator for sales, developing industry-relateable scenarios for slides, emails, presentations, and demos, whether online or in person. At CASAHL, Carolyn often conducted video conferences, partnering with Microsoft to demo software to clients. At Splunk, Carolyn worked with the Splunk "sandbox" to simulate actual customer stories, so that she would create meaningful screen shots. At Berry Appleman Leiden,  Carolyn customized UserVoice to match Berry Appleman's website.
